Why I Float

Anne.jpeg

Before I get into a float tank, I’m like every other busy person: I’m thinking about where I need to be and what I need to do next, and I’m worrying about getting it all done. But entering into the absolute dark and quiet, with the perfectly temperate water, changes all of that. I don’t strategize about my week or make a list of chores. I just relax and meditate. The benefits are immense. While my brain is taking a break from processing all of the everyday stimuli, it heals my body: a shoulder puts itself squarely back into its socket, or a sore knee twitches and then feels better. When I exit the pod, I am quiet and enclosed in my own precious bubble of calm. I am a better partner, parent, employee, and friend. And that is why I float.
